finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

November 98 - Rei wearing the ribbon she
asked Yuuichirou for - my first work in
coloured pencil, before I had a decent
flesh-tone. Drawing braided hair is hard -
but I think this came out reasonably
cute! 18
November 98 - This is intended to be The
Happy Couple a few years in the future,
with their little girl Sakura. (Yes, I
made her up. I don't see why only Usagi
and Mamoru should spawn.) Pose ripped from
Kaji, Misato and PenPen in an
Evangelion pic. (On Yuuichirou, it
really shows.) If you're curious

December 98 - the Hikawa Jinja Christmas
card, if that makes any sense at all! I
originally drew this planning to make it
the centre of a Christmassy design theme
for the index page, but ran out of good
ideas after that. Usagi thinks she's

from this time, my 'model' was a
panel from volume one of the Star Wars:

- looks like Rei gets roses! Silver Moonlight Wedding Fanart Contest This took place back in 1999. For their monthly fanart challenge, the Raventeam asked people to draw Rei and Yuuichirou's wedding pictures! One interesting condition was that Yuuichirou's eyes must be visible. Unfortunately, I thought, a lot of people complied with this by cutting his hair short and drawing him so that he looked like Mamoru with brown hair, and no trace of his own personality. Anyway, I entered and scored second prize, and you can view all the entries here. I thought it was great to see so many fanartists working on this subject! My especial favourites were drawn by Suzey*, Caroline Shorter (whose Rei seems to be having trouble getting Yuuichirou to the altar!), Crystalfyre, Princess Loureenia (great fight for the bouquet), Viviane Haene, Sailor Vega, Amanda (bridesmaid problems!), Steve/Bladerunner - and of course I like my drawing too *^.^* |
