All images were either scanned by myself or Webmistress Lizzard, contributed by Nariya, Jerrin, Dillypickle or Den-sama, snaffled from AnimeArt.com or Over the Sky or... umm... found on the Internet, I don't remember where. on the right in the series,' good spotting. It's from an
animated sequence in the Japanese Playstation
Escaflowne game. I think it's nice that Gaddes came
to Fanelia to say goodbye to Hitomi, but he looks too thin!
Allen isn't feeding him properly!

Prototype
Designs Prototype
sketches show that Nobuteru Yuuki settled how he
wanted Gaddes to look pretty quickly. However,
colour prototypes show that he toyed with
some aspects a little! Surfer
Gaddes! I think he may be even blonder than Allen
*^.^* I
guess this could count as a prototype, in that it's
an earlier version of Gaddes, from the shoujo
manga of Escaflowne that came out some
time before the TV series. (I don't think he has a
part in the shounen manga, which mostly
concentrates on Hitomi's breasts.) Apparently in
that version of the story, he's a defector from the
Zaibach army who's helping Allen. Gee, kind of like
how in Star Wars, Han Solo is a defector
from the Imperial army (turned freighter captain
and smuggler) who ends up helping the Rebellion. Oh
my God. Allen is Chewy. Actually,
the best reaction to this version of Gaddes came
from my mate Lizz. 'What's Allen doing hanging out
with Fonzie?' He wears a black leather jacket and
his hair is a classic greaser quiff. He's adorable,
but he does look like his jacket should have
'T-Birds' on the back of it. There's
a thought! An Escaflowne cast production of
Grease! Gaddes would make a gorgeous Danny
Zuko. Millerna was born to play Sandy. This idea
has legs.
